The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Michael Mlekuz can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

I was so sadden to hear of Michael's passing when I returned from overseas. I enjoyed working with Michael for many years at Austin. Michael was a dedicated and passionate educator. He held high standard for his students and worked diligently to help them achieve their best. Mike dedicated a lot of time to the school community especially through coaching. I recall him many times returning to school after facing cold temperatures or heavy rains and winds during many games and tournaments. I also really enjoyed Mike's sense of humour! He was a gift to the Austin community and will be missed. Sincere condolences to all of Michael's family

As a colleague of Mike's I always enjoyed working with him. As a teacher and guidance counsellor I addmired Mike's work ethic, genuine concern for his students and his respect for all the staff. He was definitely one of the good guys and has been taken from you much too soon.
