The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Michael Mlekuz can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: My deepest condolences to the Mlekusz family.

I got to know Mike when we worked together at Fr. Austin. He asked me to help chaperone OFSSAA soccer trips, which allowed me to get to know him better. His dedication to his students and his passion for teaching were obvious. He will be missed.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Sue

Condolence: my condolences to Mike's family, and also to his friends and colleagues and students.

I knew Mike as a teacher from the same region, and I also came to know and appreciate Mike by seeing him in his role as coach. Whether on the basketball court or the soccer pitch, this gentleman always conducted himself with grace and respect, thereby teaching his student athletes important values and lessons that should come from all sporting endeavours. I am sure that many young people whose lives he touched will, perhaps unknowingly, continue to spread his kindness and positive encouraging nature to those whom they encounter in life.

Condolence: Mike was one of my "besties" since we met in teacher's college at U of T. We shared many coffee chats over the years. I respected his intelligence in everything from politics to science to sports. Another great thing about Mike was that he was a great listener, true confidante, a perfect gentleman, and very close to his family. He spoke so often and fondly about his niece & nephew! One of the good guys. The Second Cup will never be the same without you. Rest easy now, my friend.

Condolence: I was sorry to hear about Mr. Mlekuz. He was my math and chemistry teacher at Father Leo Austin in the late '90's and my most memorable teacher after all this time. His excellent teaching helped me become well prepared for university and I will always be thankful for that. Sending kind thoughts and prayers to his family and friends during this difficult time.
