Obituary for Lois Mary Verna Adamson (Hanna)
Lois Mary Adamson (Nee Hanna)
(August 1, 1922- October 8, 2016)
Passed away peacefully at Lookout Ridge Retirement Home, Fonthill, in her 95th year in the presence of her family.
Beloved wife of Sydney for 62 years. Also survived by her sister, Elva (Gavin), sons Frank (Judith), Fred, Lloyd (Cindy) and by daughter Jean (Pauline), (Rob Clark). Predeceased by her son Brian her father Henry and mother Faye, brothers Kenny, Harold and Val, stepdaughter Brenda (Fred)and grandson Adam Clark.
Proud grandmother of Amy (Oliver), Carrie (Ryan), Sean (Erin), Craig (Laura), Dru (Julie), Ginny (Marcus), Adrienne (Kristian), Adam, and great grandmother of Matthew, Sydney, Alex, Cohen, Lucas, Evan, Mya, Adria, Kalli , Valla and Evan Remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Lois was a registered X-Ray technician and worked at the K-W Hospital in Kitchener, where she was the Assistant Chief Technician and later in Minden and Haliburton.
She was a long-time member of the Anglican Church Women’s Auxillary at Holy Trinity Church in Kitchener, where she served in many leadership roles.
Syd and Lois moved to Minden in 1981 where she, and daughter Jean and Rob Clark owned and operated the Jay Lake Trailer Park for 8 years. While in Minden she was an active member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church Woman’s Auxillary. Lois was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #636 where she served many years on the executive and as President.
Lois enjoyed bowling, curling, golfing and vacations with family and friends and time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family very much appreciates the professional care provided by Dr. King and the wonderful and caring staff from Lookout Ridge Retirement Home in Fonthill, Ontario, where she resided for the last year of her life. While living with Jean and Pauline in Oshawa she enjoyed her time at the Oshawa Senior Citizens Day Care Center.
Friends are invited to visit the family at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Bobcaygeon Rd., Minden on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 until 9:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, October 15 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at the Minden Cemetery.
A Reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #636 Minden (Hwy #35 N and County Rd #121).
Memorial Donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #636 Minden, St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Minden or to the Canadian Diabetic Association would be appreciated by the family.
