Obituary

In Loving Memory of Gayla Etta Davey
October 7, 1939- January 23, 2021

Surrounded by family, our beloved Mom, Nana, Great-Grandma, passed away peacefully on January 23rd, 2021 at the age of 81.

She will forever be cherished and remembered by her children Heather (Douglas), and Lisa (Thomas), her grandchildren Sarah (Jeffrey), Amy, Brooke, Brett, Reid, and her great-grandchildren Alex, Henry, Ella, Thomson, and Charlie. Gayla will be missed by her sisters Arvada and Kathy (David), and her brothers Maurice (Cynthia), Wade (Beverly), Willard (Sandra), by her sister-in-law Donna, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Gayla was predeceased by her husband William, by her parents Garnet and Eileen, and by her brother Dennis.

Thank you to the Staff at Frost Manor, Lindsay and special thanks to Tori Carr for her exceptional support and care provided to our parents during their stay.

Due to the circumstances of provincial health restrictions there will only be a private graveside service for immediate family.

If so desired, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Ontario, 20 Eglinton Avenue West, 16th Floor, Toronto, Ontario M4R 1K8 or can be arranged through the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., P.O. Box 427, Minden, Ontario K0M 2K0.

I have fond memories of Gayla’s warm smile and friendly wave whenever she was at Norland P.S. or Ridgewood P.S. She was a lovely lady! My sincere condolences Lisa, Heather and Families. Faye Vernon

Heather, I am so sorry to hear of Gayla’s passing. I have so many fond memories of your Mom. She was always so kind and loving and giving. Thank you to everyone for the kind words.
The Covid restrictions only allowed for 9 family members at the burial service today, but we hope to celebrate the life of our Nana with all who loved her when restrictions are lifted.
