Danny was a true bud to me, he helped me be a better guide in the MKE course. He is a Hero to so many of us.

Many memories of Dan come to mind. From times when several of "the Linkert men" gathered here at the bakery for coffee and great laughter as the stories were told, especially with his Uncle Muray and his Dad. Or planning a joint surprise party for those two, when only Dan and I really knew the party was for them both---what a hoot! Always hilarious to hear Dan and Murray disagree over Dan's leaving his bakery job in Haliburton in the 80's----Murray insisted he quit, Dan that he was the only person his uncle ever fired! No lasting impact on their relationship, as Dan worked for him again and thought greatly of his uncle. They were family, all that mattered. He really lived life fully, especially these last years as his horizons expanded. Well done, Dan. You are greatly respected and missed by many.

We were so saddened to hear about Dans passing and extend our sincere condolences to his family. We’ll miss his friendly smile and the endless stories and conversations we had while he helped us at our cottage on Farquhar Lake. Dan worked with me the 2 days before the accident and was so upbeat about his charity bike riding and getting his new car. He had work lined up for the fall and was confident that this winter was going to be all good with his beloved mom.
To quote one of my daughters “He was a special dude with a real good heart” which describes him nicely – he’ll be missed.

Dear Eva & family,
Sending you my deepest sympathy in the loss of your son and brother. I didn't know Danny personally, but talking with Eva, he sounded like a wonderful son and person. I know he will be missed, but I hope your memories will help ease your grief.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, Eva.
