In Loving Memory of Robert “Bob” Daniel McMath
Passed away peacefully at Hyland Crest Senior Citizens Home, Minden on November 8, 2018 At the age of 97.

Beloved husband of the late Gloria Catherine McMath (nee Robson). Dear father of the late Daniel McMath (Shirley) and was the last remaining sibling from good Irish family of 12. Dear uncle of James (Gwen) Self, Robbie Knapp, Ron (Joyce) McMath, William Catherwood, John (Joy) Catherwood, Colleen (Bob) Hopcroft, Margaret Hunter and by many other nieces and nephews spread all over Ontario. Fondly remembered by his special friends; Betty and Jim Jackson, Garth Windsor, Dorothy, The Bunker, Miscio, Sutton, and Seedhouse families, the Reverend Milton Barry Family and by many others who he loved and entertained at his Peterson Road Home, Carnarvon.

The family is eternally grateful to the lower floor staff at Hyland Crest for their wonderful care and attention to Uncle Bob these past years. He truly had great respect for all and entertained the staff and friends with his good Irish Yarns and world stage repertoire of songs. God Bless you Uncle Bob. May the winds be always at your back.

Born in Northern Ireland and proud of it on March 19, 1921------ came to Canada some years later and met the love of life--------------his lovely wife Gloria. They married in August 1943 and raised a wonderful and very successful son Daniel who contacted a rare Brain Tumor from which he passed far too soon.

He was a proud mason and could recite any part of their secretive oath ; In short succession he lost his wife, son , dog, and cat. And never once did I hear him say he felt sorry for himself. He was very strong willed and a great athlete playing bowling with the best of them here and in Toronto.

He came to love Carnarvon and Minden as it reminded him of Ireland and a slower pace of life. He was frugal and grew his own vegetables and fruits which he shared with pleasure. His singing baritone voice of almost any song, his awkward sayings, stories or jokes always entertained everyone including the stall at Hyland Crest Long Term Care where he received compassionate, wonderful care, kind smart staff, who always had his best interests at heart. We thank you all with our love for him and our gratitude to every single employee.
