In Loving Memory of Peter John Maybury
Passed away peacefully at the Haliburton Hospital on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at the age of 73.
Beloved husband of Barbara for 49 years. Dear father of Brianne and her husband Matthew of Orangeville, Lauren and her husband Zachary of Chicago. Loving grandpa “Dumpy” to Evan, Paige, Parker and twins Luka and Zoe. Brother-in-law to Robert and his wife Jennifer.
Pete will always be remembered for his love of hockey, he played Jr. A for many years and Maple Leafs owned his rights which led to a scholarship at the Ohio University where he met Barb. Pete graduated with a Bachelor of Education, that same year he married Barb and was drafted by the World Hockey Association but he chose to continue with his education and achieved his Master’s Degree from Kent State University. In 1974 he began working at Humber College North Campus as the Athletic Director and was also the hockey coach for the Humber Hawks, he later transferred to the Lakeshore Campus as Director of Student and Community Affairs and retired after 33 years at Humber to Minden.
A Celebration of Peter’s Life will take place at a later date and time to be announced.
