Some thoughts on Mabel’s Life:

Mabel was kind and thoughtful, she was a member of Highland Hills United Church, the Lydias Group, the Women’s Institute and the Circle of Friends. She worked for 25 years as a postal clerk at the Minden Post Office.

She volunteered with Minden HHHS Auxiliary, walked with friends, volunteered canvasser with CNIB, she was a Life Member of the Minden Kinette Club. Mabel enjoyed lunches with her Red Hatter Friends, being a hockey grandma, playing cards especially cribbage. She will be remembered for her cooking, sewing, cross stitching and gardening abilities. Mabel always remembered birthdays and loved all family get together events, she collected knickknacks and loved photographs. She would always keep up on correspondence with family and friends. Would often listen to music and enjoyed dancing to it as well, she also enjoyed watching shenanigans going on around her and would often participate in them as well. While at Hyland Crest she would participate in the many activities and would support fellow residents.

Mabel was a friend to many, a loving mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin. Mabel was proud of her Sutherland heritage.
