Joyce Elizabeth Hogg was born to Albert and Mary Margaret Rose. Her mother passed when Mom was a baby. Joyce had brothers Bill, Bob and Roger. Then after welcoming her new mother Violet, Barbara and Brian came along. It was always a huge regret for mom that she lost touch with her older brothers.

In 1958 she married Oral Hogg and, in quick succession added Dorothy, Wendy, Marilyn, Michael and Lori to their family…. Waited a decade or so, then added Jodi.

Mom and Dad had many friends that they socialized with, many have passed, giving us life long friends that help shape our lives.

Elsie Roy was mom’s life long friend. Mom and Dad would get together many Saturday nights, With Elsie and Bill, play cards and have snacks. We got into mischief with Debbie, Exploring their orchard and creek! Great times.

Fran Bickmore was a great friend, always trying to corrupt us with bad language and racy jokes! Mom was the Matron Of Honour and Dad the best man when she married Harley. Spending time with Fran, Harley, Dean and Joel was always a blast.

Averil and Ray Walker were a constant presence along with Danny, Julie, Larry and Ricky.

And the coffee ladies and their families! Janeen Prout with Sam (as we knew him then), Randy and Kim. Judy with Tommy and Darcy and of course Joyce Brown whose contact with Mom brightened her days until her passing. Her Husband Bill, kids Judy, Nancy, Jimmy and Dean, too.

Stan and Lynn Gylitiuk became good friends and frequent company once Jodi and Tammy were born. Kim and Shane too, were always fun! Our camping trips and sleepovers, just great fun.

As our family grew up and dispersed Mom became more isolated, but as Bob and Bonnie Robinson moved across the street and kept mom busy. She loved being a surrogate Grandmother to Kyle and Cory, turning on the moon for them many evenings.

There were many changes for us in our lives and Mom and Dad welcomed our children and our partners into the family.
