At Rest
James Ronald Clarkson, affectionately known as Ronnie, passed away suddenly in the company of friends at his home in Minden, Ontario on July 28th, 2020 - 4 days after his 77th birthday.
Born & raised in Bargeddie, Scotland, Ronnie studied as an electrician & joined the Merchant Navy with whom he worked as an Electrical Officer, sailing all around the world. Ronnie loved the sea & the adventures that came with it. In 1970, he embarked on a new journey by immigrating to Canada where Ronnie worked as a lineman with Enersource Mississauga. This was a career which he dedicated 35 years of service to while he braved some of the harshest winter & summer elements Canada has to offer.
Ronnie was a skilled marksman with extensive knowledge surrounding his interest. He loved spending the colder months at his condo in Pompano Beach & enjoyed reminding everyone back in Canada just how warm the “winter” weather was in Florida. Ronnie had an avid interest in all things history. He was passionate about playing the flute with his band, The Cambridge Crown Defenders & took pride in the many parades he was a part of. Ronnie mastered the art of conversation - he could chat with you about anything & everything & it would be thoroughly enjoyable. Ronnie was well loved by many people. He will be greatly missed by his family & his countless friends.
