Obituary for Gertrude "Trudy" Fischer

In Loving Memory of Gertrude “Trudy” Fischer

It is with heavy hearts that we have had to say a final farewell to our loving mother Trudy. We hope that she is dancing with Dad (Tom) again. They danced so beautifully together. Mom was quick to laugh, loved deeply and was so very loved by those she has left behind to mourn her passing. Children Micky, Katie (Pete) and Tony. Grandchildren Emmylou (Phil), Lukas (Laura), Travis (Kaitlin), Alex and Shelby (Trevor). Great Grandchildren, Wyatt, Cole, Jake and Austin.

Mom was a good friend to many, she loved to ski even though she only started when she was 50. She was known to go off the rope swing to the joy of the grandchildren, usually wearing a dress as it was spontaneous not planned. Mom loved to dance and continued to do so until recently when the bands would visit Hyland Crest.

Mom was a voracious reader, loved Oprah, 60 minutes and old movies while she still had her sight. She knitted sweaters for every new born child and for us, made dozens of covered hangers, afghans and pillows. She didn’t love to cook but she made fabulous meals none the less. Her favourite ‘meal’ was dessert.

Mom has struggled for a number of years with dementia, we hope that she can now be at peace. We love you and will miss you forever more.

Memorial Donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family and can be arranged through the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., P.O. Box 427, Minden, Ontario K0M 2K0.
